Odes and Disclaimers

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

-Arthur O’Shaughnessy, from Ode

“There is nothing more to be said or to be done to-night, so hand me over my violin and let us try to forget for half an hour the miserable weather and the still more miserable ways of our fellow men.”
– Arthur Conan Doyle, from The Five Orange Pips

Why we’re here

Royal Road West believes in challenging the modern world’s sometimes-off-putting reality by crafting temporary escapes from it. We believe that by temporarily forsaking the world through imagination, people can recreate, rejuvenate and recharge in preparation for their return to the real world. We help by creating highly detailed, immersive experiences.

At the moment, we’re making role-playing game material. It’s all based on a trove of documents an anonymous former newspaper Editor pulled through a multidimensional door that connects the ancient kingdom of Kesteva to our world.*

*Alas, we cannot state that recollections of an anonymous former newspaper Editor from a fog-shrouded Midwestern town who claimed to pull documents concerning dragons, demons and goblins through a multidimensional door are to be trusted. Fog in the Midwest? Please. But we at Royal Road West of course DO trust the Editor because … who would lie about a multidimensional door?
